Elena: An Introview

Back to Blog

We are excited to welcome editor Elena De Palma to the team! Elena travels across the world for her craft, contributing her talents to a wide range of projects from “Share the Love” for Huawei, to award winning “Bears” for Centre Parc. We invite you to get to know her a little better in the introview below.

When did you first decide you wanted to become an editor and why?

When I was young, I wanted a trade, one that I could forever be perfecting.  At college I found that feeling in editing. It was the first thing I became obsessive over, staying as long as my tutor would allow me. It’s something that continues to develop, inspired by others, collaborations, performance and happy accidents.

What is something that inspires you?

Sound designs in films. I love the way elements transcend genres and can create an extra layer of meaning or juxtaposed feeling to picture.

The city or the mountains?

I’m 50/50 on this. I adore escaping to cities because of their wealth of history and culture but value tranquility and fresh air.  I wouldn’t say no to a ticket to either.

Who is someone you admire and why?

Charles Bradley. His music is raw and honest. I feel this is rare nowadays.

How do you take your coffee?

I don’t. I’ll have a peppermint tea please.

Is there anything you want to come back into fashion?

I think we live in a time where our nostalgia is a click away, whether it’s finding comfort in the witty dialog of a black and white film, buying an old record, or looking for fashion and design to recreate.  Pineapple and cheddar sticks at parties wouldn’t go amiss though.
